Who is Rivergoat Outfitters?
Rivergoat Outfitters is a veteran owned and operated venture by myself, Brian Peeler. I am based out of and operate around Virginia's own "Canoe Capital," Front Royal.
I have been fishing since I could hold a rod and reel. Growing up, I fishing the Occoquan Reservoir, Pohick Bay and the South Fork of the Shenandoah River with my father which ignited my passion for the sport. Fishing has led me on many excellent angling adventures across the US and (internationally) providing a broad range of experience(s) to share with you on the water.
As I continue to move forward with this endeavor, I find myself blessed to share time with my clients and continue to learn as river levels and conditions change daily, seasonally and annually.

The Boat
This stripped down, skiff has everything you need and nothing you don't. The original Towee skiff design with updated materials is meant for grabbing a few rods, a cooler, gear bag and disappearing to the flats, river or marsh. Paired with a dependable Towee trailer, there's just a lot of adventure and value in this skiff.
This Scout Skiff is outfitted smartly with an open interior - fore and aft benches and deep rod trays. It is equipped with the SRO Rowing Frame, Sawyer Oars and Mercury Jet Outboard to work as a versatile power drifter. We've also strapped the bow with a Minn Kota Riptide trolling motor with enough battery for a couple days of heavy fishing on the Shenandoah River.

Where We Fish
The Shenandoah River is home to many fish species. Centralizing our efforts from Front Royal, we primarily fish the South Fork of the Shenandoah River and the Main Stem of the Shenandoah River. Based on what you would like to target, water levels or how you would like to fish we can get you on the right float for your desired experience.
*** Contingencies may include fishing Lake Frederick or Burke Lake depending on time of year or aimed target species ***
Guides

Brian "The Rivergoat" Peeler
My first job guiding was in the summer of 2008. I was targeting northern pike and walleye. Smallmouth bass and a musky even showed face and our tally for the summer was impressive. I never quit fishing, but I have taken opportunities over the years to learn new disciplines, techniques, and the importance of conservation in order to produce the best chances at a positive experience on the water, a trophy fish or new personal best.
I'm excited for the opportunity to share my knowledge with you. Whether you are brand new to fishing or a seasoned angler, I can help you find the fish and make the right presentation.
I can't wait to help you create some memories on the Shenandoah River. Until then, tight lines!
